About Good Stuart

A bid desk that worked for us first.

Before Good Stuart was offered to anyone, it was how one founder found and won public work for his own companies. Same people, same method, now working for you.

Where this came from

Built to solve our own problem.

Ian is the founder of Quick Brown Fox. He ran three unrelated businesses that each sold to schools, cities, counties and public agencies. Each one had the same problem: the work was out there, and nobody had time to find it, read it and respond to it well.

So he built a bid desk for himself. Nothing missed, every solicitation read in full, most of them turned down, and a proper response written for the ones worth winning. It ran across all three companies at once.

He only offered it to anyone else after it had worked for his own businesses. That is what Good Stuart is: the same desk, the same people, doing the same work for companies that sell to public buyers.

The record, before we sold it to anyone

1,531 solicitations read and triaged, in full
342 responses written and submitted

Across three unrelated businesses, for our own account. Every one of those responses was priced and signed by the company submitting it. Same rule we keep for clients.

Who you'll work with

The person on the other end of the call.

Ian, founder of Good Stuart

Ian

Founder. You'll speak with him on the call.

Ian is the founder of Quick Brown Fox and of Good Stuart. He built this bid desk for his own companies first, and ran it across three unrelated businesses before offering it to anyone else. Along the way he read and triaged more than 1,500 public solicitations and wrote and submitted more than 300 responses. He still reads the solicitations and still writes the responses. If you book a call, he is the person you will talk to.

One point of contact

You get one point of contact. Whoever reads your solicitations writes your response and answers when you call, and you are never handed off to someone you've not met.

We are a small team on purpose. It is how nothing reaches you that hasn't been read in full, addenda and attachments included.

How we work

Five rules we don't bend.

  1. We say no more often than yes.

Most of what is out there is not worth your time. Telling you that, quickly and with reasons, is the most valuable thing we do.

  2. You always sign.

Every certification in a public bid is yours to make. You set the price, you approve the final document, and you sign it. Every time.

  3. The whole document, every time.

The full solicitation, the addenda and the attachments get read before you ever hear about it. Nothing is judged from a summary.

  4. We measure like a sales team.

Opportunities surfaced, bids submitted, win rate, contract value, renewals.

  5. Every response is one of a kind.

Each response is built from that company's own references, approach and pricing, and it is never reused for anyone else.

Where we work: every state, in whatever trade you are in. Our buyers are schools, cities, counties, special districts, universities and public agencies.
